Doing our Part

We are dedicated to the protection and renewal of our environment. We recognize that in the grand scheme of things, our small contributions in favor or against the global climate don't do much; but they do something. Whether it's the trash in the dumpster, the chemicals in the water supply, or one less tree in the forest, everything we do impacts the world around us. We want to do what we can to minimize our environmental impact, support local and domestic businesses, encourage sustainable growth, reduce waste, and reuse and recycle materials. Even if we were the only ones doing this, we believe that there is value in becoming part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Fortunately, many more people, businesses, and communities are taking on responsbility to contribute to the global solution. We promise to do our part.

Organic Products

As part of our commitment, we've introduced a line of organic sheet sets and face rest covers, and have started carrying organic oils, lotions, creams, and aromatherapy oils. Organic products are grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizers that may pollute water supplies or leave chemical residues in finished products.

Sustainable Growth

The worldwide destruction of forests and wetlands due to industrial development is a global problem that affects all of us through reduced air quality, loss of biodiversity, and elimination of natural habitats. The recent research and development of new textile materials is one way to reduce this effect. Bamboo, in particular, is a new and effective way to promote sustainable growth. We've recently introduced a line of bamboo sheet sets, and offer a bamboo masssage table. Bamboo grows quickly, doesn't require chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and can be grown more sustainably than cotton.

Sourcing Locally and Domestically

The costs of transportation go beyond just what is added to the cost of a product. Transportation adds traffic to the roads, pollution to the air, and contributes to the effects of global climate change. In addition, non-domestic production is often not regulated as closely as US manufacturing, which may lead to greater pollution. Where possible, we support domestic and local manufacturers over products made overseas. In addition to the less expensive imported sheet sets we sell, we also locally manufacture our own US made linens from US cotton, and all but a few of the massage tables we sell are US made.

Packaging and Shipping

If you've received orders from us before, you've probably noticed that our products lack the extensive packaging and branding papers some companies have. This doesn't mean the product itself is lower in quality; just that we've made a conscious decision to reduce throw-away packaging that adds nothing to product quality and has no other use except to be thrown away five minutes after your products are received.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Our company started out manufacturing cloth diapers in an effort to reduce the number of disposable diapers added to our landfills. As part of our operations, we follow the principles of "reduce, reuse, recycle". We've consciously reduced the amount of paper, water, and cardboard used in our workplace. We reuse or recycle vendor packaging materials. We recycle cardboard, paper, and plastic supplies used in production, and avoid printing anything unnecessary. We even contribute unused or second quality textile materials to worldwide humanitarian causes. All our paper for internal use is post-consumer recycled paper.

Wind Power

We've made arrangements with our local power company to purchase our electricity from renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy. Learn more about this unique program here: https://www.rockymountainpower.net/env/bsre/po.html
