Massage Gels

Massage gels are preferred when clients have tight muscles that can benefit the warmth of extra friction. Often gels are used for specific areas that are really tight and other lubricants for the balance of the massage. Gels are high in water content and thus slippery allowing the therapist to rub faster creating more friction. Gels don’t have the same beneficial skin moisturizing properties as creams and oils, but they don’t feel greasy and don’t stain linen and clothing. They are frequently used for sports massage and deep tissue work.
